Love of Golf Part II: Okay fellas; let me have your attention. All married guy golfers would love to have their wife play the game of golf with them. Why? Well, it just makes things easier. If she has the same love of golf as you do, then she would understand your need to play the game. Plus, it would be nice to have a playing partner readily available.

Despite our wishes, so few male golfers ever realize the dream. Instead, we are left jealous of the lucky few who have managed to pull it off. What is the secret? Well, I have a few to share with you. If you pull them off correctly, you will be that guy that all the others are jealous of.

Now, there are three things that women like that are crucial to the advice that I am about to share - compliments, compliments and compliments. If you are able to get your wife to subconsciously associate golf with compliments, you are golden. Don’t doubt me. Just roll with it. I have seen it work with three separate couples to perfection.

And golf presents many opportunities to compliment your wife. I will share my list of the top ways to do so.

1) Comment on her golf outfit – This should be obvious, but most men are not socially program to do this. Yes, we do it when she dresses up to go out to dinner, but not when she dresses up for golf. However, in her mind, there is no difference. The difference only exists in your mind.

2) She never has a bad shot – Look, you never want to make a comment about how bad a shot she hit. Every shot is good or it is only bad because of the wind, the bad ground, etc… You get the picture. Oh, and every good shot is exceptional.

3) Say she is beautiful in front of other golfers – Nothing like exclaiming to the world that your wife is beautiful. Further, she is likely the only female playing in the foursome or golf league. Making her feel special in front of other guys is like giving candy to a baby.

4) Never make her walk – There are exceptions, but generally women don’t want to walk. Unless she is the outdoor type and really wants to walk, you don’t want her to associate golf with sweat. Plus, offering to get her a cart is just another way of complimenting her with your appreciation.

5) State openly how lucky you are – Look, she knows that she is golfing mainly for your sake. And you do to. So tell her at least once a round that you are so lucky to have a wife that golfs with you. Preferably, you would tell her this is front of others.

6) Your the cutest couple - Last, if there is another golfing couple, say jokingly that you are the best looking golf couple in the group. Now I say jokingly because you don’t want to offend the other couple. But it has to be said because you don’t want your wife to believe for a second that you wish you had the other wife as a golfing partner.

Well, there you have the secret to teaching your wife the love of golf. Be consistent. Be persistent. If you do, you will turn your wife into your golfing partner.
